They are kings and there are Kings. But who really is a king? I know him… I have seen him.  You have seen him too. He is sovereign, he is mighty and powerful. He rules and reigns. Yes I know all these. But he was not always that way. No king was conceived with a crown.

In 1 Sam16 vs 7 – 13. Now there’s something very interesting I need you to see. Samuel, the prophet of God was sent to anoint another King to supplant Saul. Samuel yielded he called all the children of Jesse and more than twice he nearly anointed the wrong person.

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Our first priority is to seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness means to turn to him first for help, to fill your thoughts with his desires, to take his character for your pattern, and to serve and obey him in everything.  What is really important to you?  People, objects, goals and other desires all compete for priority.  Any of these can quickly bump God out of first place if you don’t actively choose to give him first place in your life.
