He Will Give You Rest!

Recently, I was sitting in my corner "office table" at my favorite Panera Bread. I almost made a spectacle of myself as the tears began streaming down my face. In just a moment's time, I was overcome with a sense of feeling weary. So, I grabbed my Bible and started searching for something to calm my mind and heart. I stumbled on Matthew 11:28 : Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

I've heard and read that verse hundreds of times, but I decided to dig a little deeper into that precious verse and see if there was anything more to it than the obvious. And guess what? There was!

God Will Not Drop You

Our God is The Good Shepherd and He cares for His sheep. He loves and rescues us; He lifts us up when we are low and supports us when we are weak. As long as you rely on Him, He keeps you from falling. In the Book of Psalms 80:1-2, the bible says, "Hear us O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock; You who sit enthroned between the Cherubim, shine forth before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your might, come and save us".

When you look back into your own life, you can see that in your times of failure and unbelief, God never left you. He has always been faithful and it is a good discipline to pause, look back and recognize the faithfulness of God in every step of your life. "For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous but the way of the wicked will perish" Psalm 1:6 . The eyes of Jehovah are on you every minute and "from His dwelling place, He watches all who live on the earth" Psalm 33:14 . When your heart is fully committed to the Lord, His eyes will range throughout the earth to strengthen you.
