Caring For People

It is not easy to have a burden for people who are not related to you. It takes God for someone to be compassionate and do something for people who are in need. We as men are selfish and self-centered. Thinking and being there for others is a gift from God. At times, it requires a lot of self sacrifice. All this can be achieved if we crucify ourselves and ask Christ to be our Lord and savior. When this happens, it is no longer about us and our desires but what Christ wants as he lives in us. As Christians it is mandatory for us to live for others not for ourselves alone.
Jesus told his disciples that those who will inherit the kingdom of God are those who are merciful. They feed, clothe and care for strangers. Mathew 25:31-46. Do not expect that God will ever come personally expecting you to be of service to him. When you care for other people, especially those in need, you are truly being a faithful servant and showing that God lives in you.

It is very wrong for Christians to go on with life as if nothing is going on in the world. You were called so as you can be a light to the world. You should be there for the underprivileged, hurting and needy in the society. I am pained when I think of children dying in Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia and other poor states from malnutrition yet their is something we can all do in our individual capacities. Let us rise up from our comfort zones and be what God wants us to be, true disciples. You should also enable the gospel to penetrate every corner of the world. Let us give those who do not know God a chance to know him and live a victorious life.
