He Will Give You Rest!

Recently, I was sitting in my corner "office table" at my favorite Panera Bread. I almost made a spectacle of myself as the tears began streaming down my face. In just a moment's time, I was overcome with a sense of feeling weary. So, I grabbed my Bible and started searching for something to calm my mind and heart. I stumbled on Matthew 11:28 : Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

I've heard and read that verse hundreds of times, but I decided to dig a little deeper into that precious verse and see if there was anything more to it than the obvious. And guess what? There was!

First Things First

Thought:  How to live free from worry

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Our first priority is to seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness means to turn to him first for help, to fill your thoughts with his desires, to take his character for your pattern, and to serve and obey him in everything.  What is really important to you?  People, objects, goals and other desires all compete for priority.  Any of these can quickly bump God out of first place if you don’t actively choose to give him first place in your life.
